Today, I am utilizing a 3.5mm to rca cable to hook up a pc to a wonderful Onkyo TX-4500 for my audio needs; I have discovered the port difference. Using the rear port located near my antenna for a killer nic wifi as well as all the cabling seems to add a nuisance wailing during the quiet moments. The sound is built in Realtek ALC887 codec(boy do I miss the days of a sound card RIP Creative). I normally wouldn’t want to use anything but the main port due to distance of the chip however clearly its lack of distance to all the other noise is to much. I have found that I have to give in to something that in my youth I’d not rest until I find a solution that allowed me to use a main rear port. I’d probably even purchase a sound card which would have been relevant prior to windows dependencies access restrictions. There are fuzzy answers as the why, the time-frame for when was probably 2006-2011. This coincides with Windows Vista release. The reasons vary from creative’s drivers fault, onboard audio is sooo much better now, and USB DACs(which I am using now and have had Komplete Audio 6). I was always certain the change happened within access of windows that allowed for sound cards to have low latency. Again there are many articles of why that I would argue(remember) lands around Vista and it’s lack of kernel access for the sound driver. My lesson isn’t reasons why or what can be done as a result of reasons. My lesson is giving in and dealing with what is and more importantly enjoying, thankfully to appreciate that what is. Giving in as I call it. Reminiscing on the not giving up and thinking out a solution with an approach that begets my aching itch for the journey. I still seek the journey and this ship as cited from my second article is proof. Giving in however can feel good for the moment.
